PHA holds 48th Annual Convention

PHA holds 48th Annual Convention Dr. Raul L. Lapitan, President of the Philippine Heart Association (PHA), leads the organization in its 48th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting (#PromotingHeartHealth Always) with the theme: Linkages and Collaborations: Convergence Towards Comprehensive Cardiovascular Care on May 24 to 26, 2017 at the EDSA Shangrila, Mandaluyong City. The Over-all Chair of the Organizing Committee for this year’s convention is Dr. Nannette R. Rey while PSPC Past President Dr. Aurelia Leus is the Chair of the Scientific Committee.

Here is the welcome message of Dr. Aurelia Leus from the PHA Convention website:

“On behalf of the Scientific committee of the Philippine Heart Association’s 48th Annual Convention and Scientific meeting, welcome one and all.

Thank you very much for your participation. This year’s convention focuses on linkages and collaborations with other medical specialties.knowing full well cardiovascular disease comes with many co-morbidities.

The organizing committee members have worked hard on our program which highlights among others novel therapies in Heart Failure, coronary artery disease in women, the unending issues on hypertension and many more topics thanks to the efforts of the different established councils of our association.

We look forward to seeing you in the different sessions and may you find the time spent here worthwhile and intellectually stimulating. Mabuhay and God Bless Us All”.

The convocation and opening ceremonies will be held on May 24, 2017 with the Dr. Mariano M. Alimurung Memorial Lecture followed by the Dr. Ramon F. Abarquez, Jr. Professorial lecture Dr. Raul L. Lapitan PHA President Dr. Nannette L. Rey Over-all Chair Organizing Committee Dr. Aurelia Leus Chair, Scientific Committee
and the plenary lectures. The Council Session on Rheumatic Fever/ Rheumatic Heart Disease/ Infective Endocarditis/ Kawasaki Disease will be held at 3:30 – 5:00 in the afternoon at the Isla I Ballroom. The Chair of the session is Dr. Jhuliet Balderas and co-chaired by Dr. Regente I. Lapak.
